Latin America’s First Green Science Library to be Unveiled, Marking a New Chapter in Sustainable Scientific Culture

Latin America, 08 December 2025 – In a landmark event for scientific advancement and sustainable development, the inaugural Green Science Library in Latin America will be officially announced tomorrow, December 9th, coinciding with the global celebration of World Green Science Day. This pioneering institution represents a transformative hub dedicated to fostering a culture of sustainability-driven science and innovation across the region.

The Green Science Library is conceived not merely as a repository of knowledge, but as a dynamic, living ecosystem for thought, collaboration, and action. It will provide unparalleled access to cutting-edge research, educational resources, and community programs focused on green technologies, environmental stewardship, climate solutions, and sustainable development.

To ensure the Library fulfills its mission of constructing a robust and inclusive scientific culture, a distinguished Scientific Steering Committee has been established. This committee will provide strategic vision and scholarly leadership, charged with:

  • Curating a world-class, multidisciplinary collection of green science resources.

  • Designing impactful public engagement and educational outreach initiatives.

  • Fostering critical dialogue and connecting knowledge to actionable community and policy outcomes.

The Committee will operate under the auspices of the Journal of Latin American Sciences and Culture, leveraging its academic excellence and regional reach. This initiative is proudly realized through the synergistic cooperation of the International Green Science Center for Latin America and the Caribbean and the Andean Road Countries for Science and Technology (ARCST), showing a powerful international commitment to a sustainable future.
