The Andean Road Countries for Science and Technology (ARCST), in collaboration with key partners including the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation (CBCGDF), the International Green Science Center for Latin America and the Caribbean (IGSCLAC), Unidad Central del Valle del Cauca (UCEVA), and the Journal of Latin American Sciences and Culture (JLASC), is actively preparing the agenda for the upcoming “Biodiversity Summit” at COP16. This strategic partnership is dedicated to advancing science-driven initiatives aimed at biodiversity conservation, promoting sustainable development, and fostering cross-regional collaboration. ARCST’s involvement shows the critical role of green innovation in shaping global climate solutions and addressing the pressing environmental challenges of our time.

Today, the meeting of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity begins. This meeting marks the preparatory stage for the World Summit negotiations.

The main objective of the COP 16 is to review the implementation of the Kunming Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework by various countries, thus bringing together representatives from over 190 countries to coordinate national biodiversity strategies, action plans, and promote the mobilization of financial resources.
