More plastic than fish in the world’s oceans by 2050?[1]. What can we do about it?

As the world fights COVID-19, it must be remembered that humanity is still threatened by climate change that has been around for quite some time. Understanding the basic science of climate, the influence of humans on climate, and the influence of climate on society, in general, requires information, media, and technological skills. This is especially true in the digital age. Policy-making, awareness-raising, and other levels of intervention against climate change cannot be done outside the spheres of information and the media.

You can be a pioneer to promote positive actions for climate change by becoming a leader in our Green Science Projectthat bolsters scientific literacy and science popularization. In this program, the Andean Road Countries for Science and Technology promotes the informational scientific literacy defined in the Media and Information Literacy (MIL) program of the UNESCO in addition to the promotion of the Spanish language in science and technology together with the Cervantes Institute; the Journal of Latin American Sciences and Culture, Elektro High Tech Co. Ltd and Chaoxuan Research Institute.

Media and Information Literacy (MIL) has been growing steadily in all regions of the world, with many initiatives being held. MIL is an antecedent of science literacy. When MIL is combined with science literacy, it can empower citizens to contribute to the fight against climate change.

The world needs us. Tell us how you protect nature. How can we live in harmony with mother earth? How to protect endangered species, how to restore the land. How to replace plastic, how to stop ecocide, how science and technology can help us find the perfect balance with nature, etc.
