Global Recognition of Indigenous Symbol Wiphala Promotes Culture of Peace and Harmony

The United Nations General Assembly has introduced a resolution co-sponsored by Bolivia and Venezuela to recognize the Wiphala, a vibrant multicolor flag representing Indigenous heritage, as a global symbol of peace, unity, and harmony with nature. The proposal highlights the Wiphala’s deep cultural significance for Indigenous peoples, embodying values of respect, diversity, and ecological balance.
