Bolivia has ONE Whale: The Ocean at 3,600 Meters Above Sea Level -

Who would imagine finding a whale in the heights of Bolivia?
Yet, inside the National Museum of Natural History of Bolivia, at 3,600 meters above sea level, rests a baby whale — a hidden treasure preserved for more than 100 years.

Bolivia, a landlocked nation, keeps within its museum walls a living reminder of the sea — a story that bridges mountains and oceans, memory and discovery.

Now, thanks to the joint efforts of the National Museum of Natural History of Bolivia (MNHN), Andean Road Countries for Science and Technology (ARCST), the International Green Science Center for Latin America and the Caribbean (IGSCLAC), the Journal of Latin American Sciences and Culture (JLASC), this extraordinary specimen will soon receive the care and restoration it deserves. Together, we are ensuring that future generations can continue to learn from this symbol of resilience, and from the powerful message it carries about the connection between land, sea, and climate.

Whales are more than majestic creatures; they are essential allies in the fight against climate change, helping to capture and store carbon and sustain ocean ecosystems. By contributing to this restoration. This partnership reinforces the mission to promote green science education, biodiversity awareness, and the construction of a strong science culture that inspires curiosity and responsibility across generations.

A whale in the Andes, a reminder that even far from the shore, the ocean still speaks to us. Its voice now echoes through the mountains, inspiring hope, knowledge, and collaboration for a sustainable future.
