We are pleased to announce the publication of a White Paper “Enhancing Science and Climate Literacy” in the Journal of Latin American Science and Culture (JLASC). This important paper reflects the ideas shared at the Intercontinental Meeting on Science Literacy IMSL 2024, which brought together experts, educators, and policymakers to explore the changing landscape of scientific and climate culture in Latin America and the Caribbean. The White Paper proposes concrete strategies to improve scientific culture and highlights the need for a more inclusive and sustainable approach to education in the region.
The White Paper addresses key topics such as the impact of digital transformation on education, the integration of climate culture into school curricula, and the importance of cultural relevance in learning. It also addresses challenges such as accessibility, misinformation, and the need for collaborative networks that promote scientific culture. The recommendations focus on using digital tools, promoting lifelong learning, and supporting policies that foster public engagement and inclusion to shape a more scientific future.
